The UCLR was founded in 1992 and has hosted the Cesar Chavez awards banquet and fundraiser every year since 1993. Collaboration and relationship building has been an integral part of our community involvement. UCLR members continue to meet with the Utah Department of Community and Culture, the Office of Ethnic Affairs and the Salt Lake City schools and Granite District, to address the achievement gap, racism and ethno-centric issues.
